A Few Happenings Around Here

We have been keeping busy, although I'm sure it doesn't appear so according to my BLOG. I decided to make our blog public again. I figured maybe I over-reacted about the strange followers I was having. I'm sure there were some even stranger ones I didn't know about. I read an interesting Ensign article on blogging and thought, hey, maybe we'll try public again.

Here are some happenings:

Gila Valley Temple Open House

The temple was really pretty. We were glad we went, but very dissapointed. Our daughter cried through the ENTIRE open house. Cried, screamed, and was mad. We've concluded she doesn't like the temple. It was really embarrassing, and I felt so bad. Everytime the tour guide would start to talk in a new room, Avery would scream. He would stop and look right at me. Then I would take her out in the hall. I felt horrible. She didn't cry on the 2 1/2 hour car ride over to Pima, she didn't cry at the chapel next door. But as soon as we hit the temple grounds, she wanted to be somewhere else. We love you Aves!
On the way home from the temple, we stopped at a small town called Bryce, Arizona. It is in between Safford and Pima. Mike's ancestor settled this little community. (Great Great Great Grandfather - Ebenezer Bryce)
So, if you have been to Bryce Canyon, it is named after Ebenezer Bryce. He was living in Southern Utah at the time. He went looking one day for a missing cow and stumbled on Bryce Canyon....what a find!!! We are kind of proud of this claim to fame!

And here is Mike's new pride and joy. You've probably already seen it on facebook. He won it at AM/PM's grand opening a few weeks ago. He thinks it is the coolest thing ever. It cracks me up, but it does match the office furniture. What to do???

Aunt Erica and Uncle Nick

Aren't they the cutest couple ever? We had such a fun week. My sister, Erica and her husband Nick came down to visit. We were sooo sad to see them go. I'm sure they were somewhat glad to leave the chaos here. But, we really miss them!

They are probably enjoying the extra sleep...My kids would ask every 5 minutes in the morning...when can we go wake up Erica and Nick? What can I say? They just love them to pieces.

We did some fun things. Erica took me to the mall & showed me what was in style now. Wow, I needed some help picking out clothes. We also went to the new Mesquite Groves Pool. It was a blast. We want to go again. Mike drove everyone to South Mountain on Friday while I worked. Here are some pictures overlooking Phoenix.

Can't wait to see you guys in a few months!

Go Mariners!

Daven had his first T-Ball game this season on Saturday, March 27th. He is on the Mariner's team. Daddy is his coach. Mike is a great T-ball coach! You can tell he loved baseball growing up. I told Mike that he'll probably get more opportunities to coach. I guess they were in desperate need of one more coach and just started calling through the list. Since our last name starts with "B" I think we were at the top. Mike has had several "I'm just going through the list and came across your name" calls lately. Hopefully it will work to our advantage more in the future. Daven likes having him as coach.

Daven's good friend, Nate is on our team, too. The only downfall....we are not the Boston Red Sox :(. Daddy's favorite team. Maybe next time.
Aunt Erica and Uncle Nick came for the game. We had so much fun with them while they were here. We had to say good-bye after the game was over. My kids love them so much. I don't know what we'll do when they start having kids of their own. Maybe their kids will love me that much. I can only hope!
And what is the best part about playing t-ball? The capri suns after!!! I thought this picture was darling of Daven and Nate.

I took some pics of Daven hitting the ball, but they were too far away. I'll have to use another lens next time. Daven played first base and right field during the game. We have some amazing hitters on our team. We even managed to get a few outs. The boys were very behaved for Mike. I just love watching them in their cute outfits. But, Mike reminds me they are UNIFORMS. Whatever they are called, they are cute, cute, cute. Bring on some more.

My First Pony-Tail

Avery muffin is walking. She cruises pretty fast around this place, too. Last weekend I decided to put a pony-tail in her hair. I don't know what I am doing with her hair yet. I am still learning. But, she looked so cute BOPPING around with a little tail sticking up on top. Love it!
