My Little Girl turned three years old!
She felt so special all day long. Mike and I could just tell she had the best day. She gave us the biggest hugs and kisses at bedtime...unasked for! Can you tell by the look on her face in this picture that she is so happy?
And very, very loved by these brothers. They were almost as excited for her birthday as for their own. They helped her count down the days all week. And they made her promise to wait until they got home from school to open presents. They didn't want to miss out on any of the action.
Aves and I made cupcakes that day. They were pink with pink frosting. Depending on the day, she might tell you her favorite color is pink :)
We love you little Avery Mae.
Things I love about you:
1. Your kisses! They are the best. Ever since you were a baby, you have given us kisses with your tongue. As an infant, you accidentally slipped the tongue on daddy a few times when he leaned in for a kiss :) I love when you kiss me on the cheek and a little bit of your tongue sticks out. They really are the best and I'll miss it when you learn how to kiss the right way. Daddy is a bit worried about how adept you are at using your tongue, though.....So, stay away from those boys.
2. Your boyish girlness! About a month ago, you and I did a lot of playing together. First we played batman castle together, then garbage truck & fire engines. You tried to get me to buy you the lightning McQueen sticker book at Costco. Then told me all about how when you get bigger, you want to play basketball but with a PINK ball! You are the perfect blend of everything and the perfect addition to our family. I love seeing how much your brothers adore you. What would we do with you?3. Your cooking. You love to cook and help me in the kitchen. I think it is something you are going to be talented at and I can already tell you enjoy it. As Maya, one of our babysitter's said, "YOU HAVE A PRETTY GOOD STIR-ER ON YOUR HANDS!" We used your easy bake oven today to make cupcakes for family home evening and you loved it. You love to help make muffins in the morning.
4. Your independent side..OH my! I honestly don't know if I've met anyone that tries to be as independent as you. This past year, you potty-trained yourself. Heaven forbid I try to assist you in the bathroom. You tell me to leave there quite often! You like to do everything on your own...from getting on shoes, to getting in the car, to picking your clothes or toothbrush, and the list goes on!
5. How you care about others. When brothers are sad, you are usually the first to run to their side. c=You have been like this since day one. I remember your "time-out supervising" days when you were about 18 months old. You would go and sit with brothers while they cried in time-out. If they were both in time-out, you would hop back and forth between the two. You are still very nurturing and I can tell you want to help others.
Of course there are so many other wonderful things about you. I am so grateful that you are a part of our family. You bring us so much happiness. You area fire-cracker and full of surprises. But wonderful surprises!! We love you!
