Toothless Medal Boy

This boy is growing up so fast. He has lost 4 teeth in the last month. They just keep popping out. In fact, he doesn't even know where they go! One of them came out right after Christmas. We can't find it anywhere. He thinks he swallowed it. But, the toothfairy still came. She hid his money in a tricky spot, probably because she had to look extra hard to find his tooth :)

Daven is a little competitive. At least when he wants something.

Since school started he's been working toward an AR medal. (Reading Program at school) They have to read books and take comprehension tests. If they read a certain number of pages and pass the tests, they get medals. And he got one. He was really, really proud of himself.

At basketball, he watched some other boys get medals for being the game MVP. He decided he was going to work hard to get one. Basketball has been a challenge. The other kids on his team are like pros and this is our first season. But he has been working hard. In his last game, he got a rebound :) and made contact with the ball more. This was really exciting. He was so proud to win the medal!!

Way to go buddy!!

London's Run 2012

London's Run 2012

Maddy, Michelle, me, Brenna
I love these girls so much. We were so excited that Michelle flew out from California to do this race. We had a carb party the night before at Brenna's house. It was delicious food and great visiting!! Then Saturday night, we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. If only Michelle lived closer! And the race was so exciting, it was Brenna's first one.
I always look so dorky in running pictures. Maybe I run weird and don't know it :) I remember seeing this girl running one day along the canal and I thought, "she looks really funny when she runs." Maybe I'm like her.

This is my sprinting to the finish line. I had to laugh because my goal was to beat 1:50. I did it but by 4 seconds. Ha-ha. At least when I say something, you know I mean it. 1:49:56 was my official time. I think it was about 8:24 minute miles.
My sweet kids greeted me with a kiss after the race and they had made a really cute sign:
RUN MUM!! Loved it.
Well, Mike had a hand in the sign, too. Thanks for coming to cheer me on at the finish line.
Couldn't have EVER run this fast without this girl. She pushes me so hard. By the way, she finished in 1:44 Amazing.

I'm not sure what I want to do next. I don't have any races planned. Maybe some great cross-training?

Fun Christmas Memories 2011

Favorite Christmas Memories of 2011
We were so blessed and had a wonderful holiday season. So grateful that everyone was healthy and that we could be together. We also enjoyed our time in Utah after Christmas.
We made a "UTE GINGERBREAD VILLAGE." Wonder whose idea that was?
Kindergarten Gingerbread Houses
Logan was so excited that daddy got to come help him. He loves it when we come to his school. And I melt every time I see him in a paper homeade hat.

We have very intense cookie decorators in this family.
I bet Santa couldn't wait to get to our house. Ha-ha!
Papa came to stay for Christmas. It was so fun to have him here. The kids are getting ready to open their Christmas Eve present. They each got pj's and an ornament.
Daven: Super Mario pj's - music note ornament
Logan: Lego Batman pj's - "my first day of school" ornament
Avery: Pink snowman jammies - minnie mouse ornament
Twas the Night Before Christmas
Daven treated us to the reading this year. Both excaiting and cute to watch.
Mike and Avery reading the Nativity Story. Aves loved Mary.
Papa got a special Christmas Eve present for each of the kids. So sweet. Avery got this precious music box. She loves it. Thanks papa!

Bey Blades Spinning
This was the sound we heard all day long.

Mike trying out the RipStik the boys gave him. He's pretty good!
The boys slept in their new sleeping bags Christmas night. They are going to love these next time we go camping!!

And this is my favorite picture of the day. This is what Avery looked like most of the day. She had on her Dora dress-up, her bike helmet, and was playing with her toys. Super loveable!

We asked our friend, Mike Sherwood, if he would be willing to make a trade. We are so glad that he was up for it. He is a fantastic photographer! I am good friends with his wife, Tia, and I am always admiring their pictures. We offered him a free night of babysitting and a gift card in exchange for a photo-shoot session. (I still feel like we made out like bandits).

PS Logan was sick this day, so there weren't many great individual shots of him. He is still loved...just in case you are wondering.
