Logan hopped off the bus on Friday wearing this hat! (It's a racoon.) He came running towards me with the biggest grin on his face. I thought, only in Kindergarten are you so proud to show your mom your awesome new hat! In fact, he was so excited that he helped Avery make one of her own.
We are starting to get settled in our new house. It has been a big process. I seem to have forgotten all that's involved with a move. We moved in on a Thursday and the kids started school on Monday. And a new school at that! I was so worried about them having to go through so many changes. It was hard the first week for them, but I think they are starting to adjust. I think we are going to like it here. We aren't too far, just about 10 miles from our old house. But in some ways, it feels really far! We miss the closeness to all of our friends. And we miss Daven's old school.
This little munchkin thought she was going to hop on the bus right along with her brothers. Every day she wishes! She kept saying "I go preschool.....????" One more year little girl. It has been such a great experience to have just me and her during the day. We have never had that. It does feel really quiet and lonely, sometimes though, too. I miss my boys. Avery misses them, too. The first day of school we were leaving a brunch with friends and she suddenly burst into tears, screaming "GA-GA, my GA-GA" (That is short for Logan). But I think spending time alone with her will be so great for us. It has already cut down on the tantrums.
Mike watched the boys get on the bus. Then I drove to school and met them. They are lining up in this picture and waiting to go inside. I was excited because our new school will let you walk them to their seats on the first day.
I can't believe this little guy is a kindergartner. He has a late birthday so I wondered how he was going to handle all-day kindergarten. Plus, he is my little sweetheart. But, he seems to be doing really well. The first week was exhausting for him. He had a melt-down around 4:30 each day from being so tired. But, I knew things were going to be okay when he told me he was excited for school last Monday. He has made a new buddy, Carter at the bus stop. They sometimes hold hands as they get on, which thrills me to death! It's going to be okay!!!

His favorites are library and P.E. I can't even describe how excited he was to show us the first library book he picked out. Finally he gets to be big like his brother, too!
This handsome guy is in 2nd grade. I think he is going to like his teacher. They haven't had many outdoor recesses since it is so hot here. But he has really enjoyed playing Legos at indoor recess. I know he really misses his best buddy, Nathan from last year. But we are hoping he'll make some more great friends.

I don't know how I feel about them growing up so fast!! Those boys both look so handsome. I love that Ga-Ga helped Avery make a raccoon hat too. I bet she loved that. I got a little glimpse too of your house in these pictures. It looks way cute with what you have done with it. I want to see more of it though!
I miss those kids. I'm glad we will be seeing them a little bit more now that summer is over. They are all so cute and sweet!
