Daven's Baptism

We had a very exciting event take place this Spring. Daven decided that he wanted to be baptized into the church that Mike and I are members of, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We believe that when you are 8 years old, you reach an age of accountability and can be baptized if you choose. We are so glad that Daven decided to do this and truly feel he is following the example set long ago by our Savior, Jesus Christ.

It was such a memorable and great day. We were so grateful and in awe of all the family members that traveled from far away to support Daven. We also had many friends that came to his baptism. Many came from our old stomping grounds (about 20 minutes away). So we felt like those friends travelled a long way, too. Daven and our family felt so loved and supported. We can't thank everyone enough!!

Here are some pictures!

Daven with his Papa before the big event. Daven looked so handsome all dressed up in his suit! We were all getting dressed up and ready to head over to the church.
These pictures are next in my camera roll. I don't want you to think that anything was more important than the baptism. But, our family all brought little gifts for Daven and they wanted him to open them before we left for the church. I think Daven understood that the baptism was the most important part. He didn't even know that people bring gifts.
This is his baptism memory book...kind of like a journal, from Aunt Erica and Uncle Nick. We have already filled a lot of it out. It is really cute.

I'm sorry, but he just looks so handsome......and grown up. I think he looks like a mini-Mike in his suit and red tie! SHARP!

At the church we belong to, the boys start Cub Scouts at the age of 8. Daven has been looking forward to this day for a long time. Mike promised the boys their own pocket knife when they turn 8. So this was a special present from daddy.
I got online and made a little photo book for Daven for his baptism. It was from both Mike and I. I had everyone at the baptism sign it. I hope Daven will know how much he is loved by us and Heavenly Father every time he reads this book.
Really the only picture that is decent of Daven and I. He is my photogenic boy.
There were 4 other children being baptized from our ward that day. Here we are getting to the church.
I love this picture. Daven and Daddy look so beautiful in their white clothes. These are worn for the baptism and then after, since they get wet, they change back into their church clothes. Mike performed the baptism. After the baptism, Daven was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
 Great Grandma and baby Georgia.
Great Grandpa....taking a much needed rest. They did lots of driving to get to the baptism. What a special blessing to have them here.
This cute sweet Georgia pie was the apple of everyone's eye. She is so adorable and the life of every party, just like her mama-Aunt Erica.

Aunt Michelle and Daven's cousins: Jake, Alyssa, and Mekenna. Poor Caleb got the stomach flu on the way to Arizona. He stayed in St. George with his dad. We missed him!

It was such a special day. We are thankful for Daven for setting such a good example for his brothers and sister to follow! We love you, Daven!!
