Tagged!

Okay, so I found this on my friend's web-site the other day & it says to post all this info on your site. So here is a little bit more about me. Now you have to post this info about you on your blog. I can't wait to see it!!

10 Reasons I Stink:
1) I am SO uncoordinated. Yes, I was terrible at most sports growing up. I can hit a slow-pitch softball and play a little golf. That is about it. I am terrified of the ball. I used to get really scared in gym class when we'd play dodgeball. One time, (I seriously don't know how), I was the last one standing...my heart was racing the whole time. Whenever we go to baseball games, I inform everyone around me that if we see a fly-ball, they have to help me catch it...I'm just too scared. We tried to go snow-skiing on our honeymoon and I fell down immediately after we got off the lift.
2) I can't dive. This goes along with being uncoordinated. I dove a few times growing up, but most of the time I ended up belly-flopping. So, eventually I gave up.
3) I am emotional. Mike would say a little on the irrational side sometimes. (of course he would say that very lovingly!!). I tend to take things a too seriously.
4) I am a worry-wart. I worry way to much about all the possible things that could happen. I go the extra mile to make sure that things are taken care of so the bad things don't happen. But, I definately think I spend way to much time worrying. Most people who know me well would agree.
5) I like to sleep. I have to have enough rest in order to function well. 8 - 9 hours per night is the ideal. I also have to sneak a 10-minute cat nap in during the day sometimes when Logan is down for his nap and Daven is having his quiet time. I'l usually lay down next to him and just "rest my eyes" for a few minutes. But, then, I feel great. But, if I have to choose between sleep or a good movie, sleep will always win.
6) I am terrible at yard work. When we first moved in, I took it upon myself to trim some bushes in the yard. Mike told me I was not allowed to trim bushes after that. I butchered it, it looked terrible. But, I had to admit, my efforts were pretty funny.
7) I am terrified of bugs. The other day, I came out of Logan's room and just started screaming. I thought I saw a bug on the wall. It ended up being a sticker. Phew. But, boy it scared me. Mike is used to coming home and seeing cups on the floor from all the bugs I have trapped but been too scared to kill.
8) I love ice-cream way too much. I have to eat a bowl every night. A few crushed oreos on top gives it just the right touch.
9) I am a messy eater. Mike always laughs at me because I spill all the time, especially in the car. The worst is when I eat trix or cereal in the car. I can't tell you how many pieces of cereal are stuck underneath our seats that we can't get to. I just can't seem to get all the pieces in my mouth. This is really embarrassing.
10) I am a picky eater. I don't like fish at all. I have branched out over the years, but I definately have my likes (ice-cream) and things I won't touch. One time we were waiting to be seated at PF Changs. They brought us these delicious won-tons. I was saying how good they were after I had 1 bite. Mike said, "you know that is crab in there, right?" I couldn't bring myself to eat another bite.

10 Reasons I'm Great
1) I am a nice mommy most of the time...at least I am always trying to be nice.
2) I can play the piano okay & have written a few songs. Hopefully someday, I"ll get them copyrighted. This is one thing I regret not developing more in high school. I want to take lessons again when Logan gets a little older.
3) I can sing in a choir.....not a solo voice, but I can carry a part & enjoy singing.
4) I am a good water-skiier (but no other coordination)
5) I am a good scrap-booker (as long as I have cute pages to copy)
6) I enjoy exercise. Mike would say I'm a good runner. I would like to run a mini-marathon one day.
7) I love the outdoors, camping, and hiking.
8) I can make really good enchiladas, manacottis, lasagne, and chicken noodle soup (thanks to great recipes from family & friends).
9) I think I do a pretty good job of keeping a clean, nice house.
10) I am good at playing cars w/ the boys.

Logan's Birthday

Here are some pictures from Logan's 2 Year-Old Birthday Celebration! I can't believe he is 2.

We invited the McOmber's over to swim and have a little party for Logan on Wednesday. Kline is only 3 weeks younger than Logan and they are pretty good friends. Logan was excited to have his "Kliner's" here.
Logan in front of his cake, getting ready to sing "Happy Birthday."
Here is the "garbage truck" cake Logan requested. We had a few minor engineering difficulties w/ the "front loader" part, but other than than, I think it turned out pretty cute. Daven was just as excited as Logan was.
We started singing happy birthday. Before we got very far into the song, Logan had already blown out one of his candles. By the time the song was over the other one was out. I was cracking up because he knew exactly what to do.
Logan in front of his presents, giving his usual "i'm feeling shy" look.
Logan was so excited to open his presents. He started tearing into one right after his guests left. I have to hurry and get Mike out here. But, he decided to open this one first from Kline, he loved it! Then, he didn't want to open any more presents. It took some coaxing.
Logan was so excited to get some CARS jammies. Now he can be twinners with his big brother, Daven. Daven wears his cars jammies to bed 6 days out of 7.

So, yesterday was a really hard day. We attended the viewing and funeral for baby Daxton Kunz. We are good friends with his parents, Doug and Brittany. We love them so much!! We have know them since we lived in Austin. Doug works with Mike, and they came to Arizona a few years after we did. I am putting a picture of the obituary because some of you said you wanted to contribute to the memorial fund.

The funeral was so heartbreaking but Mike and I both agreed it was one of the most beautiful services we had ever been to. They had so many gorgeous pictures of Daxton, what a beautiful baby! They also had a very nice video memorial as well. We were amazed that Doug and Brittany were able to have the strength to speak. They paid a perfect tribute to their little guy, relishing in all of the happy memories. I was strengthened by their strength and their testimonies.

A few things stuck out that I will never forget. Doug got up and was just filled with so much wisdom. He bore testimony of the atonement and how grateful he was for it. He said that although the knowledge doesn't take away the pain it does provide some comfort during this time. Brittany said that they gave Daxton lots of kisses all the time. She said that he was rocked to sleep and sang to every night....Her words were, it took like and hour to put him to bed every night, but it was worth every minute." I will never forget that.

I am so grateful to know such wonderful people that are so strong in the gospel. They truly strengthened me yesterday. I am also grateful for little Daxton. I keep thinking about how his life touched so many....he taught us all about the reality of Heavenly Father's plan.

I wrote a little poem this week as I was so sad by this tragedy that seemed to hit so close to home. When something like this happens to people you know well, it is hard not to imagine what you would do and how you would feel if it happened to you. I wrote down my thoughts after putting them together in my head on Tuesday night after getting Logan to bed.

Two beautiful eyes,
The most beautiful blue I've ever seen.
So brightly on your face,
They always seem to gleam.

Two chubby feet,
Ten perfect toes,
Cute, adorable cheeks,
And a beautiful little nose.

Two wobbly knees,
Scooting 'cross the ground.
You always made me smile,
At every little sound.

Now you have returned to your Father in Heav'n above,
How I wish that you were in my arms,
And you could feel my love.

Just know my little baby,
You will always be.
I'll be counting the days until forever,
When I'll hold you in eternity.

Patience Please

So we are back to black. Mike says he likes that black background color the best. I think I need to start browsing around for a new blog look. Something that fits me. So just be patient while I figure it out.

Flagstaff & Stuff

Here is what we have been up to the past few weeks. I know, I've been terrible and haven't posted for a while. I keep thinking things will slow down....it doesn't seem to be happening.

It rained a few weeks ago for like 2 days in a row. Mike took the boys out to play in it while I was at work. They had so much fun splashing around in the puddles. Someone once told me that little boys have magnets in their shoes that attract them to puddles. I totally agree.
The boys right before church a few weeks ago. I am a little biased, but I think they are so handsome.
So this is a cute story, but definately my fault. Cute, nonetheless. Logan was hungry for a snack and I had some vacuuming to do. He brought me a sleeve of oreos from the pantry. I quickly opened them for him and set him at the table. I quickly returned to my vacuuming to finish a room. I came back to check on him like 4 mintues later. This is what I found. He had take ONE bite out of every single oreo. Yah, definately my fault. Won't do that again, but he looks like he's having a great time doesn't he. That is certainly all that matters.
Oreo face. I swear the child never has a clean face, even 10 seconds after we wash it.
If looks could kill. Logan is a little more on the shy side. He usually pulls this face when he is feeling shy and not quite sure how to show it. I think it is adorably hillarious.

We actually got both boys to sit still and smile for this picture, what a concept. This is in Flagstaff, downtown on Route 66. The boys loved being there & playing outside at the park in the cooler weather. Daven kept saying to me, "Mom, I just love route 66." He gets that from the movie cars and thought it was so cool to be there.
I love these two boys!!
Here is Mike w/ the boys in front of the "choo-choo" train.
